Mona paced back and forth in her hotel room, lighting one cigarette after another as she made her plans.

They were weakening. She knew it.

Calling them hadn’t worked. They’d simply told her not to call again and hung up.

Smiling, she blew out smoke. The drugs she’d taken a little while ago had calmed her, enabling her to see things clearly.

She realized now that once Boone and Chase saw her, things had changed. They’d spoken to her, and even though they claimed that she meant nothing to them, she knew better.

They wanted her, but they were too noble to leave the kid.

She didn’t want to be a mother, but if she could get them away from that woman, she would even take the kid to get them back.

Frowning, she looked at the money on her nightstand. Seventeen dollars.

She’d put the room on her credit card, but knew she couldn’t pay it.

Yeah, she’d even put up with the crying brat to get them back.

They had enough money for her to hire a nanny, anyway.

They had more money than the other two men she’d taken as lovers, and she’d been foolish to let them get away.

She’d misjudged Boone and Chase. She’d thought they’d be happy she got rid of the kid. It would have been an obligation and bother that would have ruined everything.

She’d been forced to get another job, but it hadn’t paid well enough for her to buy the things she needed.

Her last two employers had fired her when their wives had found out about their affairs, but not before she’d managed to get some things for herself.

Beautiful things. Expensive things.

How the hell was a woman supposed to make enough money for little extras if she didn’t snag a man to buy them for her?

She inhaled again, blowing out the smoke with a satisfied sigh. When she got Boone and Chase wrapped around her finger again, she wouldn’t have to work anymore.

Once they were hers again, she could use sex to keep them.

After hiring a nanny, she could shop and sleep during the day and be the perfect lover at night.

Grinning, she put out her cigarette, satisfied that soon everything would be as it should be again.
